I am Tara DeWitte, the Principal at KSE and I am sincerely grateful for this opportunity to serve KSE students, staff, parents, and the great community of New Castle.
It takes a village to raise this amazing group of young individuals, and I am so honored to be a part of that.
I am a Colorado native and grew up primarily in Glenwood Springs and then went on to college at Ft. Lewis in Durango, Colorado. I returned to the valley specifically to complete my student teaching at KSE. I knew the school was an extremely special place and where I wanted to be because I had done much of my practicum hours here during my college breaks as my father, Bill Zambelli, was the KSE principal.
After graduation, I began teaching 2nd grade at KSE. My next role was as an Instructional Coach at Riverside Middle School, and later I moved to Cactus Valley Elementary. Ten years ago, I returned to my roots at Kathryn Senor to coach under Jana Price.
KSE truly is my family, and I care deeply for the staff, students, parents, and community here. My greatest hope is to continue all the greatness that makes KSE the magical place that it is.
My husband and I have lived in New Castle for the last 19 years, and we have two daughters that attend KSE. We love living here, being part of the community, and exploring all that this valley has to offer. In my free time, I enjoy mountain biking, running, hiking, skiing, skinning and reading.
